The FMCC Raiders volleyball team put up a strong fight on the road Tuesday night, but ultimately fell short in a five-set thriller against the SUNY Adirondack Timberwolves.
The match was a back-and-forth contest, with both teams trading sets and momentum throughout the evening. After dropping the opening set, FMCC rallied to take the second. Adirondack edged out the third, but the Raiders once again responded, forcing a decisive fifth set. The Lady Raiders were unable to close the gap in the final frame, falling by a narrow margin.
Set scores were: 26-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-18, 15-13.
Sophomore outside hitter Olivia Linart led the Raiders offensively with 10 kills, while Samara Hunt anchored the defense with 23 digs.
The Lady Raiders will look to bounce back when they host Finger Lakes and Monroe on Saturday, September 13th in The Raiders Den. Action begins at 12PM.
