The Fulton-Montgomery Community College women's basketball team used a dominant second half to secure a convincing 61–32 road victory over Hudson Valley Community College on Wednesday evening.
After a tight opening quarter that saw the Raiders trail 11–9, FMCC found its rhythm defensively and began to pull away before halftime. The Raiders held Hudson Valley to just seven points in the second quarter to take a 24–18 lead into the break, then put the game out of reach with a 21–6 third quarter.
Kieonna Christmas led all scorers with 20 points, connecting on three three-pointers while also contributing nine rebounds, five steals, and three assists. Cloey Dopp added 10 points, while Mattingly Hindes provided a spark off the bench with eight points and six steals.
Fulton-Montgomery's defense set the tone throughout the night, forcing 34 turnovers and limiting Hudson Valley to just 24.5 percent shooting from the field and 12.5 percent from beyond the arc. Hailey Monroe filled the stat sheet with nine points, six rebounds, six assists, and six steals, while Deonna Brodie added nine rebounds in 19 minutes of action.
With the win, the Lady Raiders improve to 10–3 overall and remains undefeated in conference play at 3–0. The Lady Raiders will look to continue their winning ways on Saturday when they host North Country Community College at 1:00 p.m.
