The 2017 volleyball season will be Head Coach Rachael Salvione’s fifth season in charge of the highly successful Lady Raiders. Her 2016 team won the Mountain Valley Conference Tournament and finished as runner ups in the Region 3 Championship Tournament. She anticipates a 2017 season of continued volleyball team growth, excellence, and success.

Salvione took the reins of the FM volleyball program in 2013. She brought with her a very impressive resume and an obvious love of volleyball. Coach Salvione promptly led the Lady Raiders to a third-place finish in the seven-team Mountain Valley Conference.

Coach Salvione was a scholarship volleyball player in college. She played for two seasons as an FM Lady Raider, and then accepted a scholarship to play two more years at the College of St. Rose. Salvione was a key member of the FM teams of 1997 and 1998. That ’97 FM squad won the Mountain Valley Conference Championship.

Salvione played volleyball for three years with the Johnstown Lady Bills. She also played for eight years with the highly-regarded Caroga Lake Volleyball Club under the late James Gabeler. She then coached the Caroga Lake club for two years.

Coach Salvione currently works as an Assistant Director at the Fulton County ARC’s Lexington Center.
